Reading room and library
In the renovated monumental room on the first floor accomodates our library and reading room. It has splendid study facilities and an enquiry service at the information desk, staffed by our subject specialists for in-depth advice and support regarding the collection.

   

Lending, register and payments
On the ground floor, right after the entrance on your left, you will find the issue desk for library matters such as registration, issues and returns, payment of loanfees, fines and copycards. At the desk on the ground floor you can also subscribe to our quarterly 'Boekman' or acquire any of our publications.


The collection
Since 1963 the library of the Boekman Foundation collects a.o. books, reports, newspaper cuttings, electronic documents and dissertations on the social aspects of the arts and culture. The collection contains around 65,000 titles (2006), including circa 150 periodical subscriptions. The collection focuses on Europe and The Netherlands. New acquisitions are posted on the web site every month and the online catalogue can be searched on entries like author, title, topic or year.

The library is also the national depot for masters' theses in the subject field of the foundation. 


Opening hours
The library is open to anyone on weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm.

The library is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and official holidays and between Christmas and New Year.


Membership
Membership is not required for consulting the collection at the premises, or the use of facilities such as the reading room, photo copying and work stations. For borrowing or reservation however enrolment is necessary and library staff will ask for a valid personal identification and a proof of current address (e.g. recent bank statement) at enrolment.

Members may borrow and reserve books for a small fee when registered and when able to comply with the library regulations.

Postage and handling is charged when sending material on request.

The library of the Boekman Foundation is a member of AdamNet. Borrowing is free for AdamNet passholders. You can obtain an Adamnet pass at € 35,- per annum. See also www.adamnet.nl
