Seeing Like a Fund, Presentations on Internationalisation(s) - Part 1
This special edition of the Agendapunt podcast is a collaboration between the Boekmanstichting and the Prince Claus Fund. In this two-part podcast, we share the discussions and presentations from the event Internationalisation(s), which took place on October 3, 2024. Together with artists, thinkers, and experts, we reflect on the impact of an increasingly international cultural sector.
This episode features the individual presentations from Internationalisation(s), along with a special performance that opened the event.
The episode begins with an artistic performance by Rah Naqvi and Antigoni Seferli, who introduced the audience to the themes of the event through a sensory and expressive experience. Following the performance, several speakers share their perspectives on the impact of internationalization on the Dutch cultural sector.
Ola Hassanain discusses the role of language and the tensions arising from multilingualism in a sector where Dutch and English dominate. Maardewân examines the bureaucratic barriers international artists and cultural workers face and how these challenges contribute to systemic inequality. Dilara Kanık explores the importance of knowledge exchange: how can different forms of knowledge and storytelling from diverse cultural backgrounds contribute to a more inclusive and thriving arts ecosystem?
This episode blends artistic expression with deep insights into the complexities of internationalization in arts and culture.
